Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.

Here is the link to an updated and revised outline for the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The Gospel includes Christ’s parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector.

Here are the subjects explored:

  • Central Idea: God is just and merciful.
  • Doctrine: Justification.
  • Practical Application: A life of justice and mercy.

I think it would be wise to apply the parable to oneself, not that one is either the Pharisee or the tax collector; rather, that one is both men at the same time.
