  • Central idea: Christ is the light of the world.
  • Doctrine: Light of the world.
  • Practical application: How we are to be lights of the world.

Recently, I’ve come to really appreciate the prayers and antiphons in the Mass. Notice how the Prayer after Communion presents all of salvation history with a personal message for each of us:

O God, who enlighten everyone who comes into this world, illuminate our heart, we pray, with the splendor of your grace, that we may always ponder what is worthy and pleasing to your majesty and love you in all sincerity, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

There is a hyperlink, under the word “here” as in “click here”.
That will bring you to the full outline, including the Lectionary readings.
